Sector: | eCommerce / Insurance |
Target Audience: | B2C & B2B |
Website Objectives: | Central repository for data, quoting, and purchasing with satellite sites selling different products. |
Technologies: | ASP.Net Framework 4, NHibernate, SQL Server, WordPress |
Location: | UK |
We were approached to consolidate the administration into a single data repository, accessed via a REST API, so that customer data, quotes, policies, products, and reporting could all be managed through a single interface while maintaining the “individual” sites and branding for the specific demographic.
The Solution
Using ASP.Net, NHibernate ORM and Microsoft SQL Server we created a REST API, to collect and provide the necessary product, premiums, and policy information.
WordPress was used for the customer facing websites, to utilise the existing CMS and plugin architecture of WordPress. A custom plugin was written to interface with the REST API to generate the user interface. |
Project Scope of Works
|
ASP.Net Web Forms Application was developed as an administration UI interface to interrogate the database directly.
Several 3rd party integrations were required, including B2B communication integrating with AutoProtect XML Webservices for policy management, Elavon Merchant Payment Processing for once-off and recurring payments, Experian vehicle look-up, and UK Paf data for address lookup and verification. | Resources / Planning

The Result
WordPress has allowed the client to manage much of the content themselves, reducing the time and cost. Centralised policy information has allowed for more comprehensive and combined reporting without the need for manual aggregation of data across the sites. It has also reduced the time and cost of rolling out new sites for additional products and/or variations of products.
