The Challenge
Shameless Screen Entertainment has been going for years and offers a range of movies to delight horror and exploitation fans.

Working from a growing vault of films, Shameless – which releases mostly region free – will from time to time also offer films never before available on video.
Shameless approached us to modernise their eCommerce site, as well as their sister site, Cult Films.
While both were to be upgraded and revamped, each site targeted a very specific market and audience, which meant each should maintain their own style while hinting that they are part of the same group.
Shameless titles stand out like a sore thumb, with their distinctive pulp yellow sleeves reworked for a new generation of horror lovers.
The Solution
Shameless’s directors met us at our offices at the start of the project and, around countless coffees, they shared with us their passion and dedication to Horror Films and cinema in general. While both eCommerce websites were originally built with WordPress, Shameless utilised an external eCommerce platform called Xcart. | Project Scope of Works

For ease of use, and to keep everything on the same platform, the WordPress eCommerce plugin Woocommerce was recommended and installed.
Initially, Shameless’s team only wanted to make minor design changes, but the graphical vision changed as the project progressed. Shameless’ signature yellow was moved from the background of the site to highlight the site features – in contrast to it’s new darker background. Product images were enlarged throughout, giving site users a better preview of their shocking range of films.
The original Shameless eCommerce site was difficult to navigate on smaller displays, while the new site was made completely mobile-friendly. A SEO-friendly setup was also implemented, making the site more accessible to search engines. |

The Result
The result is horrifyingly perfect, striking the right balance between usability and showcasing the art displayed on Shameless’s selection of movie covers. The success of this project is based on our relationship with Shameless’s team, our skills and their passion informed the design process and resulted in a balanced UX and striking design, paired with a solid eCommerce platform.
