Moordale Foods has been trading since 1976, and supplies fine foods and drinks throughout the UK to the wholesale market. An independent family owned business, they are dedicated to customer service and innovative product development.
The Cartwright and Butler brand, exclusively available from Moordale Foods, outperformed their expectations in 2015, helping them expand to overseas markets such as the US.
To further build on this growth, a full ecommerce capable site was needed to boost their wholesale business – which their previous information-only site could not. The design was based on their new consumer-orientated Cartwright & Butler website, but with added features for their trade clientele.
As per the Cartwright & Butler site that Lilo designed and developed, Magento was used to build the new Moordale Foods site on.
Using Magento solved three problems from the previous Moordale Foods website – it created a platform in which they could easily manage their own product inventory, it allowed them to sell those goods directly from the website to new and existing trade customers, and the responsive nature of the site reaches a wider audience.
Also, to appeal to other areas outside of the UK, multi-language functionality was incorporated to appeal to not only English markets, but also French and German.
