About the client
Howard Hodgkin was born in London in 1932 and has exhibited internationally for over four decades. His work is included in major public and private collections all over the world.
Lilo was approached to develop a website for a Howard Hodgkins print exhibition, organised and toured by the Barbican Art Gallery. The Barbican Art Gallery wanted an extensive online platform to accompany the exhibition.
About the project
The website would be an information porthole giving users access to information on the artist, the exhibition and his work. The client wanted a website that would function as an educational and research platform, giving users access to the following:
- Discussion forums
- Search tools
- Online image gallery
- Questions and Answers section
- Article Sections
- Audible interview section
Lilo designed the template and developed a fully functional website around the unique look and feel of Howard Hodgkins’ artwork. The nature of the website is interactive and contains online features that encourages users to participate and share their opinions online. The website is an effective online promotional vehicle for both the exhibition and the artist.
